As Gaeilge Welcome to Eircooled - Ireland's club for classic air-cooled cars and vans. Whether you own a modest Fiat 500 or a tarmac ripping Porsche 911 this is the place for you to get information, support, and lots of enjoyment.

Eircooled is a non-profit making club run by enthusiasts who all own air-cooled vehicles. We set up this club to cater for those who want to enjoy their vehicles in an open and friendly environment. We have plenty of events in our calendar including workshops, rallies, trips to the main UK festivals, and camping trips to Ireland's most scenic locations.

For those who don't know an air-cooled vehicle is one which does not have a radiator and water cooling system - the engine is cooled by air flowing over fins mounted on the engine. Air-cooled engines are lightweight, reliable, and suitable for use in extremes of temperature. They have downsides also - mainly noise and rapid engine wear problems. Volkswagen used air-cooled engines extensively in their vehicles until the late 70's and even into the 80's. Other manufacturers - notably Fiat, Citroen, and Porsche also produced many air-cooled vehicles. Air-cooled engines are still used extensively in industry, aviation, and in motorcycles.
